Rules Governing Admission

All applicants must read and adhere to the Rules Governing Admission. Admission to the New Mexico Bar is governed by Rules 15-101 to 406 NMRA.

Qualifications

In order to apply for a limited license, you must first have these qualifications:

Employed as a full-time permanent or visiting faculty member at the University of New Mexico School of Law

#2

Teaching in a classroom setting and supervising students in a clinical law program approved by the dean of the University of New Mexico School of Law

Previously admitted by examination to the bar of another state

Following are the basic steps for the application.

Send all Certificates of Good Standing from all states where you are licensed or have ever been licensed

Provide a written certification that you will neither seek nor accept compensation or renumeration of any kind for legal services other than your salary as a law professor
